KUALA LUMPUR: A 30-year-old policeman died after his motorcycle skidded in Jalan Pahang at 5am yesterday.

Lance Corporal Tanie Ho was on his way home to the Teratai Mewah flats in Setapak here at the time.

He lost control of his motorcycle, skidded and hit a divider.

Tanie died of injuries to the head and face.

His fiancee, Dayang Suri Ismail, was passing by at the time and was shocked to see Tanie's body lying on the road.
The 29-year-old from Sarawak said several minutes before the accident, they were with their friends at a nearby stall.

"I never thought that would be our last meal together," Dayang Suri said at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary yesterday.

Tanie's last words to Dayang Suri were: "I love you honey and please drive home safely."

"We have been together for the past eight years and we were to get married at the end of this year," she added.

Dayang Suri claimed the body at 1.45pm yesterday.

The body was flown back to Tanie's hometown in Bau, Sarawak, last night.

Tanie was attached to the federal police narcotics department.
