PETALING JAYA: The body of a 58-year-old man was found with 14 slash and stab wounds at an isolated spot in Kampung Paya Jaras Hulu in Sungai Buloh here yesterday.
The bloodied body of Wong Kun Chang, a taxi driver, was discovered by policemen responding to a report of an abandoned taxi near a Muslim cemetery.
Petaling Jaya deputy police chief Superintendent Mohd Shukor Sulong said a police patrol car was sent to investigate the taxi at 11.30am.
"The policemen checked the surroundings and found the body of a man at the bottom of the slope, about 15 metres from the taxi," said Shukor yesterday.
He said the fully-clothed body was found with four slash wounds on the neck, six stab wounds on the chest and four more at the back.
Shukor said there were traces of blood on the front seat and at the spot where the body was found.
Police ruled out robbery because the victim's watch and wallet with RM15 was found inside his shirt pocket.
Shukor said police also found ropes which could have been used to tie up the victim and there were traces of a struggle between the car and the spot where the body was found.
He said the taxi was registered to the victim's 37-year-old son, Wong Kum Wah, who has been notified by the police.
The taxi was shared between them, with the son driving it during the day and the father at night.
Both lived in Wangsa Permai in Kepong.
The victim's body was sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem.
A goat herder in the area, Azlan Ishak, 32, said he passed by the abandoned taxi at 10.30am.
"I ignored it as I thought the driver may have entered the bushes to trap birds.
"But I was surprised to see policemen retrieving a body an hour later."
