KUALA LUMPUR: The nine men detained at the launch of the Abolish Internal Security Act rally in Ampang on Sunday were released at 3am yesterday.
Among those arrested at Dataran Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya in Pandan Indah were Pas Youth chief Salahuddin Ayub, its deputy president Mohamad Sabu, its charity unit's Federal Territory chief Saifuddin Abdullah, Federal Territory Youth chief Kamarulzaman Mohamad and Pas Selangor Youth information chief Mohd Sani Hamzan.
Ampang police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Jalil Hassan said police released all nine after recording their statements.
"However, they are required to come back in two weeks when the bail expires."
