Realising breast cancer is the number one killer among women in the world, Avon and Reebok are collaborating to organise the 2008 Avon Walk Around the World for Breast Cancer.

IN 2000, more than one million cases of breast cancer were reported worldwide, with more than 370,000 people dying from it.

In 2002 and 2003, it was the most common cancer afflicting women in Malaysia. In the United States alone, one woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes.

Staggering figures indeed.

In an effort to fight breast cancer, Avon Foundation is collaborating with Reebok to organise the 2008 Avon Walk Around the World for Breast Cancer.

To be held on Aug 10 in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur, the public is invited to participate in this walk. The fee is RM20 per person.
In conjunction with the event, Reebok recently launched its Spring-Summer Pink Ribbon Collection comprising footwear, accessories and apparel.

Launched in 51 countries throughout the world, sales from the collection in Malaysia will be channelled to the Pride Foundation, a charity body that aims to create awareness and improve accessibility to treatments and care for breast cancer.

The collection, which hit the market on July 1, is available at 35 Reebok outlets nationwide.

Those participating in the walk will receive an exclusive Reebok t-shirt worth RM90 and an Avon goodie bag worth RM50.

Several local celebrities including Nasha Aziz, Syafinaz Selamat, Chef Wan and Xandra Ooi will also be joining the walk.

For further details, call Avon Hotline at 03-7965 7100.
