YOUTH ’09, Malaysia’s largest youth lifestyle event, will be held from Jan 9 to 11 next year at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
It brings together youth communities from all over Malaysia for a range of exciting activities.
Themed “Malaysia’s Largest Youth Lifestyle Revolution”, 50,000 young Malaysians aged 16 to 28 from different backgrounds will be coming together to participate in over 100 activities involving fashion, dance, music, entrepreneurship, personal growth, career and other youth interests.
Running in conjunction with Youth ’09 is the second National Youth Entrepreneur Convention 2009.
The convention brings together today’s most dynamic Malaysian youth entrepreneurs aged 30 and below to share their experiences, guidance and knowledge with an audience of over 1,000 youths.
Based on the overwhelming success of the inaugural convention early this year, the second convention will feature a wider range of youth entrepreneurs, from yoga studio founders to regional technology giants.
Youth ’08 attracted over 20,000 participants last January.
YouthMalaysia’s project director Joel Neoh said participants will include breakdancers, bloggers, budding entrepreneurs, gamers and musicians.
“The Youth ’09 pre-event has already begun online on YouthSays.com. Youths are already introducing themselves to each other and helping plan and promote the events. A lot of this pre-event excitement can be found at www.youthsays.com,” he said.
Youth ’09 is jointly organised by Persatuan Pemuda Negara Malaysia, YouthMalaysia and The Youth Intelligence.
Its partners include Rakan Muda, 8TV, AIESEC Malaysia, Animax, Fly FM, Hai Magazine, Hot FM, Jazzercise, Kareer.com.my, Macro Kiosk, Malaysian Today, Mangga, Mangga TV, Nuffnang, Wanita, Don’t Panic, Remix, Utusan Karya, Sports Planet, Innity, MIRC Incubator, Utusan, Kosmo, and Friendster.
YouthMalaysia develops community platforms to connect youths in Malaysia via online projects and on-ground events. Its projects have reached out to more than 500,000 youths on-ground, and it has access to more than 100,000 members online.
YouthMalaysia also founded Malaysia’s largest online youth community, YouthSays.com. It provides a platform for youths to help businesses, governments and policy makers better understand young Malaysians.
It also facilitates healthy exchange of opinions and peer to peer advice via its community features, such as YouthAnswers and Group Discussions.
Since the launch of YouthSays in May this year, almost 30,000 young Malaysians have signed up. Members of YouthMalaysia and Youth ’09’s organising teams are not older than 25.
The festival is opened daily from 10.30am to 9.30pm.
