I RECENTLY took a road trip from Batu Pahat to Seremban. As I got on to the North-South Expressway at Air Hitam, I noticed that most vehicles were being driven at speeds in excess of the stipulated 110kph. Even the 660cc Kancil cars were comfortably passing me by.
My question is this: Why stick to the 110kph speed limit when cars today are obviously good enough to travel faster more safely?
In fact, statistics show that the North-South Expressway has far fewer accidents and fatalities than federal and state roads.
I suggest a 120kph speed limit be considered for cars, while the present speed limit is maintained for all other vehicles.
