KUCHING: The body of Corporal Jun Sang, 30, who was killed while on duty in Lebanon is expected to arrive at Kuching International Airport some time late this evening.

Army 1st Division Infantry public relations officer Captain Amin Nurashid Ayub said his casket will be flown from Beirut and will transit at Subang Airport for the Army's last respects before heading here.

"Tentatively, the arrival of his casket in Subang from Beirut is expected by 4.30pm.

"However, the actual time of arrival is subject to change, as it depends on whether there will be any last minute changes in Beirut. All that we can really confirm is that Corporal Jun's remains will be arriving today," said Amin at the army headquarters yesterday.

Amin said that once here, the casket would be kept at Penrissen Camp overnight, before being taken to Corporal Jun's hometown of Betong by helicopter the following day.
"His casket will be sent to his wife's home at Engkalat Spak for a three-day wake, before his actual burial at St Agustine's cemetery in Betong.

Meanwhile, Jun's wife, Siman Inguh, 31, is glad to receive news that his remains will be arriving today.

"On Saturday, army officers told me that his remains would arrive on Tuesday. Then, on Monday, they told me the body will arrive the day after. I hope there will not be any more delays after this.

"It is heartbreaking enough to receive news of his death. The delays are making it worst. I hope I will be strong enough to receive his casket once it arrives tomorrow."
