SHAH ALAM: The removal of samples of explosives from the Special Action Squad (UTK) weapons storeroom to facilitate investigations in the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder case were not recorded in the logbook.
Storekeeper Lance Corporal Johari Abdul said these "leftover samples" unused by UTK officers did not need to be recorded as they had already become 'off-record'.
"If there were explosives which were taken out and not used, those returned need not be recorded," he said during examination-in-chief by DPP Manoj Kurup at the High Court yesterday.
Johari said he took five explosives and gave them to Chief Inspector Koh Fei Cheow and ACP Mastor Mohd Ariff in November 2006. They were detonator electric, claymore mine wire, cutting linear charge, plastic explosive and detonator cord.
He said he was ordered by his superior, Sergeant Rosli Ibrahim to obtain them and give them to Koh and Mastor.
Earlier, the court continued hearing of a trial-within-a-trial to decide whether evidence by Koh, alleging that Azilah had told him he could show the police where the victim was killed, should be excluded.
Deputy public prosecutor Tun Abd Majid Tun Hamzah, however, asked for a postponement as two of his witnesses were absent. Judge Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yasin adjourned hearing to Monday.
