PETALING JAYA: Police killed a suspected 26-year-old robber in a shootout in Subang Jaya after a high-speed chase along the New Pantai Expressway yesterday.
State acting Crime Investigation Department Chief ACP Omar Mamah said the suspect was asked to surrender at Jalan SS14/2, but refused.
Instead, the man opened fire at a plainclothes officer who fired back, hitting him.
Police recovered a semi-automatic pistol.
Following the incident, a police team was sent to the suspect's house in SS14/2A, some 200 metres from the scene.
A pregnant woman, believed to be the suspect's wife, was at home when police raided the house.
Police recovered firearms, bullets and sharp weapons.
