KUANTAN: Police arrested a Vietnamese man over the robbery of 62 Vietnamese workers by a group of 10 people on Sunday.
State Crime Investigation Department deputy chief Superintendent Mohd Haris Daud said the man was arrested to assist in investigations into the robbery.
On Sunday, 10 masked men armed with parang and knives entered a hostel occupied by 62 Vietnamese workers at 4am.
The workers, who were fast asleep, were shocked when the suspects woke them up and brandished the parang and knives at their faces.
The 10 men then tied up their victims before ransacking the premises and escaping with 60 mobile phones and RM6,000 in cash.
The victims later freed themselves and lodged a report at Beserah police station at 6am.
Police then launched a manhunt for the 10 men before arresting one of them several hours later.
