MAKTAB Rendah Sains Mara 'A' edged War's 15 FC 2-1 to win the sixth leg of the Milo Under-16 Hidup Bola Futsal Carnival at Suria Indoor Sports Centre, Jesselton Point in Kota Kinabalu over the weekend.

Both teams have thus qualified for the grand finals to be held in Selangor on July 27.

Third place went to Likas United who beat Maktab Rendah Sains Mara 'B' 2-1.

The top 4 teams took home RM1000, RM800, RM600 and RM500 respectively. The teams also received Milo Hidup Bola futsal balls, a complete set of jerseys and balls from Figos.

This year's event is more exciting as the champions of the grand finals will win a five-day all expenses paid trip to Old Trafford, the home of English champions Manchester United.
They will also get to train with the Manchester United youth team.

A 45-minute coaching clinic followed by a friendly match between two Under-12 Football Academies were held prior to the weekend's main event.

Akademi Kepayang beat Akademi Sebulan 3-0 in the friendly. Both teams are coached by former Sabah player Bobby Gonzales.

Ng Ping Loong, sports marketing manager for Milo, said: "We are very happy with the great start to this Hidup Bola Futsal Carnival. Our objective is to provide opportunities to the youth below 16 years to show off their futsal skills."

The seventh leg will be held this Saturday at the WNS Futsal Centre in Alor Star. Entry fee is RM50 per team.
