THE 4th edition of the Milo-SportsUnite-MTCA Inter-Team Unity Taekwondo Carnival at the Bukit Jalil Sports School in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday promises to be an exciting affair.
The carnival, organised by the Malaysia Taekwondo Clubs Association (MTCA), has captured the imagination of exponents, especially as it requires each team of five to consist at least two races. Competing as a team is also a novelty in taekwondo.
Milo sports marketing manager Ng Ping Loong and SportsUnite executive director Datuk Dina Rizal said based on the previous editions, some exciting action can be expected on Saturday.
"We are happy that this event has grown from humble beginnings to one that has received a very good response," said Ping Loong.
"The fact that this is the fourth edition is a very positive sign for the development of the sport at the grassroots and more importantly the acceptance on the concept amongst parents and exponents of unity through sports via at least two races in each team as a pre-requirement," said Dina.
Two categories -- Boys and Girls Under-18 -- will be contested with the respective champions winning RM300 prize money, medals, carnival T-shirts and certificates.
Each runners-up will, besides medals, T-shirts and certificates, receive RM200 prize money and the four losing semi-finalists will get RM150.
The carnival is restricted to 16 teams and limited places are still available. For details, contact A. Pravin at 016-6177308.
