1. How can I access to Newsbase and Factfiles?
You need to be a subscriber to the service in order to view the full text document. You can register online or mail or fax a completed registration form together with the payment to:

3. When do I hear from you after I have registered?
We will process immediately once we received your registration form during working days together with the payment. We will notify you by e-mail after your account is activated.

4. What do I need to access Newsbase and Factfile of NSTP e-Media?
You need an Internet Account and any latest version of internet browser. Of course, you will also need to have the ID and password for the services.

5. What can I do if I face any problems in using Newsbase and Factfile?
You can always refer to our online User Guide. However, should you require details, please e-mail to our customer support unit at support@nstp.com.my

6. When will I be charged for retrieving an article?
You will be charged once you viewed the full-text documents.

7. How can I find out about my usage charges?
Please log in to our customer service section by key in your ID and password to enquire on the usage for your account.

8. Why I can't find what I am looking for?
First of all, please make sure that the newspaper you want to search is available from Newsbase databases. Also, check the available dates listed for that newspaper. If you are having trouble finding just the right search terms to use, or if you are trying to narrow down your search to find just the right set of articles, try using our advanced search features.

9. If I forgot to log off, what is there to prevent someone from using my account?
We recommend you to log-out

10. Can I allow third party to use my ID and Password?
We don't recommend you to do that. You are responsible for all usage, including use of the account by any person authorised by you to use your ID and Password.

11. What can I do if one account is not enough for my company?
You can apply for multi-user ID. One registration (one account) is entitle to apply for a maximum of four (4) additional IDs. We waive the registration fee for the additional IDs. Meanwhile, the monthly subscription fee per additional IDs is only RM15.00. Monthly charges generated will be under one account with the breakdown of access (per view) fees for each IDs.

12. What if I forgot my ID and password?
You can call our Customer Support Unit at 03-282-8363, or send an e-mail to support@nstp.com.my

13. What can I do if I want to change my password?
Please log in to customer service section by key in your ID and password. We recommend that, as a safety measure, you change your password regularly so that no one knows your password.

14. Can I redistribute the articles downloaded from your web site?

Subscriber may download or copy the article for personal use only. Copying or storing of any content for other than personal use is expressly prohibited without the prior written permission from NSTP e-Media.

15. What if I want to suspend my account for a period of time?

Please notify us by sending e-mail to support@nstp.com.my or written notice to "Customer Support Unit, NSTP e-Media, The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad, Balai Berita, 31, Jalan Riong, 59100 Kuala Lumpur." However, the suspension period should be in monthly basis. i.e. from 1 January 2000 to 31 January 2000, from 1 January 2000 to 31 March 2000, etc.

16. What if I want to terminate my account?
You must give one months' notice before your last expiry date of using Newsbase and Factfiles to terminate the services. You can send e-mail to us at support@nstp.com.my or write to "Customer Support Unit, NSTP e-Media, The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad, Balai Berita, 31, Jalan Riong, 59100 Kuala Lumpur."
