KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested four officers of the Kedah Department of Forestry over the last two days for allegedly accepting bribes of more than RM100,000 as an inducement for approving logging compartments.
The MACC said in a statement today one of the officers was a senior officer, one a district forestry officer and two forest rangers.
It said the MACC officers also seized about RM300,000 found in the house of one of the arrested officers.
The statement said the officers were being remanded for four days from today for investigation. - BERNAMA
