AHMAD A.TALIB:
An MCA delegate pours his heart out

2009/11/08

I RECEIVED an email from an MCA delegate. The internal tussle in the party is very much part of today's national political landscape.

There is also a tussle in Pas, and some party insiders are claiming that the worst is yet to come.

We are also trying to understand how an Islamic scholar could be made a state mufti but was detained by the religious authorities in another state.

The reason given was he was not an accredited preacher.

Anyway, here's the email from the MCA delegate. I've edited it for space.

"I'm an MCA delegate who voted in the last extraordinary general meeting. All the words spoken next are my own and have been translated by someone I trust.

"I care very much for my party. I do not care very much for (Datuk Seri) Ong Tee Keat, (Datuk Seri Dr) Chua Soi Lek or others, who I believe only have their interests at heart.

"I suffer in silence seeing my beloved party being destroyed by greed, corruption and dishonesty.

"The Chinese traditions of loyalty and nobleness are diminishing day by day in the party.

"The president is a man I don't trust. That is why I did not give him my vote at the EGM.

"Soi Lek is a man I do not respect, simply because he is too arrogant to be a leader. That is why I did not vote him to be my deputy president.

"They have made my party a laughing stock. They are now acting as if they are the most gracious of beings. I will not forgive them and forget the fact that they have taken me for a ride.

"Why did I bother voting at the EGM? Because I care. Now, the EGM has been rendered null and void by the Registrar of Societies' decision to reinstate Soi Lek.

"The EGM is also worthless because Tee Keat is still president. Didn't he promise that he will resign if he didn't get the required number of votes?

"I now hear rumours of non-members taking money out of the MCA coffers. These are powerful people aligned to Tee Keat, people who claim to be educationists and professionals. Please stop the rot, I beg of those who have the power to do so.

"Keep outsiders out of the party, keep the registrar and Umno out of it. Let's decide who should run the party and who is qualified to lead. Fresh election is the only way forward, and I will come and vote again. Because I care."

Note: Some editors had dinner with Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, on Friday night to hear his views first hand.

As I see it, all the "3" or more factions in MCA have renege on their words. The President and his men, the ousted DP and his men and the "promoted" DP and his men.

I am at a loss for words because every way u turn, there is no winner. OTK was in the winners' rostrum but somehow he hung himself along the way.

The way I see it, for the good of MCA, all the delegates, from the top to the very bottom should make way for a new batch that has a clean and shining plate.

Only then can MCA survive the next G.E.

I agree that OTK shud go but after the culprit(s) of PKFZ fiasco be brought to trial. Thereafter BN image/motto will be enhanced ie Walk the Talk as said by our PM

ITS QUITE SHAMEFUL TO STAY ON WHEN YOU FIRST SAID WITH GUSTO THAT IF YOU LOOSE YOU AND THE ENTIRE CC WILL RESIGN. BUT YOU LINGER ON AND THEN YOU HOLD ON TO YOUR POST. ITS DIFFICULT TO LEAVE WHEN YOU ARE AT THE TOP...THAT IS A FACT AMONG MANY POLITICIANS..RARE ARE THOSE WHO RESIGN LIKE IN JAPAN, KOREA...THEY HAVE DIGNITY AND PRIDE. HERE IN MALAYSIA, A CHINESE LEADER RENEGE ON HIS PLEDGE..ITS SO SHAMEFUL...NO MATTER WHAT THE REASON IS...I THOUGHT ONLY OTHER POLITICAL LEADERS FROM OTHER PARTIES DO SO...BUT NOW I AM VERY ASHAMED TO EVEN SEE YOU IN THE NEWS OR PICTURES. THINK OF THE REST OF THE CHINESE COMMUNITY AND NOT YOURSELF AND YOUR OWN AGENDA. YOU ARE ARROGANT AND YOU LIVE IN YOUR OWN CASTLE...IN THE AIR AND YOU ARE DESTROYING THE MCA AND THE CHINESE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE WHEN YOU DID NOT DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU WILL DO IF YOU LOOSE...RESIGN. AND THE WHOLE WORLD HEARD YOU...

MCA is down the drains because of one man who happens to be the worst PRESIDENT OF MCA!

The following quote is the best for the year. Unfortunately it is one of deceit and lies and no Malaysian should ever take it for inspiration. Talking about values here:

Once a simple majority is obtained, I will be left with no choice but to step down. Anyone who argues that I do not need to do so, that only a two-thirds majority is required to boot me out, I think that is a great lie ?

OTK, please STOP! Say no more. If you are an honorable person you will discontinue this farce and live up to your word as a gentleman.
Stop making others your scapegoat.
While we are waiting for you to be a man, please desist from denying others the right to test whether you are still wanted as a leader of principles or otherwise in the MCA.
If you insist on putting obstacles in the path of another EGM, please then do the needful. Implement the resolutions passed at the 10-10 EGM. Then there will be no need for another.
Otherwise you will be derelict and dishonest in your duties. Who will trust you?
Malaysians are utterly troubled at your complete lack of integrity, trustworthiness and fortitude.
What about your job as a minister? Will ministry officials and your cabinet colleagues still respect a person so lacking? You are running a ministry, not a cartoon network!
What about your family? How will they defend you when everyone is ridiculing you as an ungentlemanly person?
What about your neighbors? Will you tell them you are like most politicians who always speak with a forked tongue?
You truly have no other realistic option but to immediately start living up to your word. No one is more distrusted than a politician who openly and blatantly breaks his word.
