Kien Keat-Boon Heong bow out

KOO Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong's European campaign ended in defeat when they were beaten by Olympic champions Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan in the French Open men's doubles final in Paris yesterday.

Kien Keat-Boon Heong were hoping to capture the title after reclaiming the top spot of the men's doubles ranking but the Indonesians came back from one game down to beat them 15-21, 21-15, 21-14 in 39 minutes.

RESULTS (All Finals) -- Men's singles: Lin Dan (Chn) bt Taufik Hidayat (Ina) 21-6, 21-15;

Doubles: Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan (Ina) bt Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong (Mas) 15-21, 21-15, 21-14.

Women's singles: Wang Yihan (Chn) bt Wang Lin (Chn) 21-9, 21-12;

Tan Boon Heong (top) and Koo Kient Keat.

Doubles: Ma Jin-Wang Xiaoli (Chn) bt Cheng Shu-Zhao Yunlei 21-13, 21-8;

Mixed doubles: Nova Widianto-Liliyana Natsir (Ina) bt Hendra Aprida Gunawan-Vita Marissa (Ina) 21-7, 21-7.
