Police seek Marliana's help in case

KUANTAN: Police are looking for a 27-year-old woman to assist them in a kidnap-cum-murder case of an elderly woman at Kampung Anak Air, near Tanjung Lumpur here, on May 29, 2006.
Marliana Harun, who is the key witness in the case, is believed to have gone into hiding after she was released on police bail some time ago.
Her last known address is No 567, Lorong Lengkok Kanan 17, Tanah Putih, Kuantan.
She had also stayed at various other places, including Taman Purnama II Kuala Ibai, Terengganu; Kampung Paya Berenjut, Kemaman; Kampung Jong Kerunai, Grik, Perak and Bandar Indera Mahkota here.
Deputy district police chief Superintendent Zulkifli Taha said Marliana had to be present at the murder trial, which begins tomorrow at the Kuantan High Court.
Zulkifli urged those with information about her to contact Assistant Superintendent Shafie Abd Samad at 019-9831200 or Sergeant-Maj Zaitun Daud at 019-9846846.

In the May 29 murder, Wong Geet Yin, 53, of Jalan Wong Ah Jang here, was abducted by a couple who demanded a ransom of RM10,000 from her family.
The family paid the ransom. However, the couple had already killed Wong and dumped her body in Tanjung Lumpur here.
Police arrested the couple after Wong's family suspected something amiss when she did not return home.
The couple led police to the body.
