New Straits Times Free Car & Cash Challenge

Terms and Conditions

1. The contest is open to all New Straits Times readers age 13 years and above, except employees of The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad, its group of companies and their immediate family members.
2. NSTP shall reserve the right to end or extend the contest period at any time without prior notice.
3. The New Straits Times Free Car and Cash Challenge consists of seven (7) rounds which runs weekly from Monday - Friday beginning November 23, 2009 until January 8, 2010.
4. Contestants are required to cut and compile the puzzle published from Monday - Thursday and paste it accordingly onto the original entry form provided on Friday for each round. Then, circle the five (5) given words correctly in the puzzle with a blue ballpoint pen.
5. At the end of each round, submit the completed original entry form to the given P.O. Box address. No photocopies will be accepted.
6. Contestants can participate in any or all rounds of the contest but are entitled to win only one (1) prize in each round.
7. Winners for each round will be selected from the qualified entries received within each round.
8. There will be nine (9) winners in every round, with a total of sixty-three (63) prizes to be given away.
9. To win the Grand Prize, all qualified entries received in the seven (7) rounds will be combined and one (1) winner will be selected.
10. Winners will be selected based on a Lucky Draw. There will be two (2) lucky draw sessions, Session 1 (for Round 1-4) will be held on January 7, 2010 and Session 2 (for Round 5-7 & Grand Prize) will be held on January 28, 2010. Both sessions will begin at 11am and will be held at The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, Balai Berita, 31 Jalan Riong, 59100 Kuala Lumpur. In the event of a postponement or change of venue, a new date or venue will be duly announced.
11. Only qualified entries with all correct answers will be entitled for the lucky draw.
12. Winners will be officially notified either by post or telephone call. The winners' list will be made available online at www.nst.com.my.
13. Winners or their representatives MUST claim the prize within one (1) month of the date of notification, failing which the prize will be forfeited.
14. The Peugeot 308 VTi excludes road tax, insurance, number plate and registration fees. All expenses, fees and/or payment incurred in connection to the car shall be borne solely by the winner.
15. NSTP reserves the right to select the colour of the car. The Peugeot 308 VTi is subject to the availability of stock from the appointed car supplier. The appointed car supplier's standard terms and conditions will apply.
16. It is the responsibility of the winner to obtain the necessary driving license and other related documents. No compensation will be given should the winner fail to obtain such documents, regardless of any circumstances.
17. All non-cash prizes are given on an "As Is" basis. All expenses incurred to collect the prize including but not limited to any other fees in relation to the collection of prizes shall be at the sole responsibility of the winners.
18. NSTP reserves the right to disqualify entries that are illegible, incomplete, damaged or for any reason whatsoever as NSTP may in its absolute discretion, deems fit to be disqualified.
19. NSTP reserves the right to publish and display the names and addresses of winners, their photographs and audio and/or visual recording for advertising and publicity purposes without compensation and prior notification to the winners.
20. NSTP shall reserve the right at its absolute discretion to substitute any of the prizes with that of similar value at any time without prior notice. All prizes are non-transferable, and not exchangeable for cash.
21. By participating in this contest, participants agree to be bound by these Contest Terms and Conditions and the decision of the panel of judges. The decision of the judges is final and conclusive. No correspondence, queries, appeals, protests or objections for any reason whatsoever will be entertained.
