Khir Toyo says some of the programmes implemented by the state government were merely window dressing.

SHAH ALAM: Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo, the former Selangor Menteri Besar, has his doubts about the efficiency of the state government's administration.

Khir Toyo pointed out that all the component parties in Pakatan Rakyat have different objectives.

"Pas has theirs while the DAP has a totally different objective but I see none from the PKR. They'll only take beneficial things and abandon the opposite," he said.

Khir Toyo said the state government seemed to be lacking in coordination.

"There is no coordination among the MB, state executive councillors, state administration and government officers and local councils," he said.

He said, sometimes, their statements contradict each other.

An example was when Pas said it wanted to have fewer entertainment outlets in Selangor but the DAP encouraged more cybercafes, massage parlours and other social activities.

Another instance was Pas wanting to see fewer places selling liquor but DAP said otherwise.

"So, there is no coordination among the Pakatan Rakyat component parties except PKR who stayed in the middle. These are the main problems affecting Selangor," he said.

Khir Toyo felt that some of the programmes implemented by the state government were merely window dressing.

He said none of them were concrete programmes.

"They talked about 'merakyatkan ekonomi' (people's economy). There are no clear explanation and indication on the term and its implementation," he said.

"It is the efficiency and effectiveness of a government that is most important," he said.
