SEREMBAN: Twelve-year-old Amirul Hazieq Abdul Aziz is among the top 16 students from a rural school here who scored 5As in his Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination.

He was, however, disappointed that his younger twin, Ahmad Fikri, did not score as well as he did. Both of them are students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Dusun Nyior.

Ahmad Fikri, who has a slight hearing problem, scored 2As, 2Bs and a C.

"I had hoped that we would score the same results because we have been studying together every day. Because of his condition, he is a bit slow and I helped him to study.

"But still he did not do too badly and I'm happy," he said.

Amirul Hazieq's school headmistress, Noreha Adam, shared the jovial mood with her 16 students, after they made the school proud by doubling the number of 5A scorers this year.

"I think the school's excellent performance should be attributed to the high commitment of the teachers, parents and students," she said.

Meanwhile, Sekolah Kebangsaan Puteri Seremban emerged as the school with the most number of students who scored 5As with 113 out of the 207 students, compared to only 95 students who achieved straight As last year.
