From drama to anime for Japanese film fest

THE Japanese Film Festival 2008 offers 10 films at GSC MidValley, GSC 1 Utama in Klang Valley (both during July 17-21) and GSC Gurney Plaza in Penang (July 25-27). Tickets are RM5 only. Expect drama, anime and of course horror on those weekends.
Organiser Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur states that it will screen seven new titles produced between 2004 and 2007.
Check out the Ichikawa Kon Retrospective where three of Ichikawa films will be screened as a mark of respect for the filmmaker who died on Feb 13, this year. The Ichikawa Kon Retrospective offers Harp of Burma (1956), Ten Dark Women (1961) and Dora-Heita (2000).
There will also be a special appearance by Ultraman Mebius at GSC MidValley on July 19.

- Tokyo Tower (2007), directed by Matsuoka Joji
- Ultraman Mebius & Ultraman Brothers (2006), directed by
Konaka Kazuya
- The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Animation, 2006), directed by Hosoda Mamoru
- Tony Takitani (2004), directed by Ichikawa Jun
- Memories Of Matsuko (2006), Directed by Nakashima Tetsuya
- Kaidan (2007), directed by Nakata Hideo
N.B. Titles are subject to change in the case of unforeseeable matters.
