Book your Christmas party now and get a 50 per cent discount off your bill. Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur in Jalan Ampang, has set aside a certain number of places for early birds making reservations before Dec 7 at the Dondang Sayang Coffee House for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Chef Albert Goh and his team are all set with an impressive line-up of festive goodies, including the traditional roast turkey, Christmas pudding, log cake, cookies and stollen.

But that’s not all. The buffet spread will start with appetisers like waldorf salad, shrimp cocktail, chicken pasta salad, rojak and cold cuts of ham, salami, chicken, sushi and raw oysters as well as oxtail soup and clam chowder.

Roast duck with walnut and orange sauce, beef and chicken satay, beef lasagne, sweet and sour crab and venison stew in puff pastry fight for attention with the barbecue selection of beef, lamb, chicken, squid, salmon and king prawns.

Of course there will be a live band, spot dances and lots more!

The Christmas Eve Razzle Dazzle Party at Dondang Sayang Coffee House is priced at RM98 (adult) RM58 (child). It’s 50 per cent off for reservations before Dec 7.

On Christmas Day, there will be a family high tea at RM55 (adult) RM35 (child). A clown will be on hand to entertain the children, keeping them happy with lots of fun and games.

On Dec 31, dress up for the Masquerade Party and ring in the New Year in style! Usher in 2009 by watching the fireworks show at KLCC, dancing to music by the live band and taking part in lucky draws and games. Priced at RM118 (adult) RM68 (child) with 50 per cent discount for reservations before Dec 7.

At the Ming Palace Chinese Restaurant, enjoy an exquisite set menu starting with New Zealand raw oysters. Then slurp on a delicious double boiled superior shark’s fin soup with dried scallops, chicken, fish lips, brassica cabbage and baby abalone.

Turkey gets oriental treatment here. Panfried turkey thigh steaks are topped with a fruity orange sauce while deepfried crab shells are stuffed with a mixture of crab meat with button mushrooms, chicken ham, onions, carrots and mayonnaise.

Indulge in miniature portions of fried rice in lotus leaf. The addition of mushrooms, chicken and dried prawns gives an irresistible fragrance to the fried rice.

The menu ends with a delightful sweetened chilled mango and avocado puree.

The set menu for both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day (lunch and dinner), inclusive of a glass of red wine, is priced at RM88 per person, for a minimum of two. Early bird reservations before Dec 7 get a 30 per cent discount.

At the Komura Japanese Restaurant, it’s Eat-All-You-Can from Dec 20 to New Year’s Day, 2009. This is a “buffet” with a difference.

Instead of food displayed on long tables, diners place orders by ticking off a selection sheet of 75 items. To ensure freshness, dishes are prepared only when orders are placed.

Except for single orders of teppanyaki turkey and wagyu beef, diners can order as many servings as they like of their favourites including sashimi, nigiri sushi, maki sushi, temaki, teppanyaki, salads, agemono and yakimono.

Priced at RM98 (adult) and RM68 (child), there’s a 30 per cent discount for reservations before Dec 7.

Those who plan to party at home can order roast turkeys at RM60 per kg (minimum 4kg per bird), available from Dec 15-31.

You can have your roast turkey done the traditional way with chestnut stuffing and cranberry sauce or give it an Asian flavour with a glutinous rice and chestnut stuffing. Goh says orders need only be placed one day ahead and that his team will also cater to special preferences. “Black pepper marinade is also good with roast turkey,” he adds.

For reservations, call Corus Hotel KL at 03-2161 8888.
