In efforts to strengthen its position in the region, Yahoo! made three announcements at CommunicAsia, which include its new Yahoo! oneSearch partnerships with five mobile operators.

The Yahoo! oneSearch partnerships will enable the five telecommunications companies – two from the Philippines, and one each from India, Hong Kong and Taiwan – to use Yahoo!’s search services as the preferred choice on their Internet mobile sites.

Yahoo! also entered into mobile advertising deals with Maxis Communications Berhad and Idea Cellular Limited of India, which will see the two telcos offering a variety of graphical advertising served by Yahoo!.

Next, Yahoo! announced localised versions of Yahoo! Go 3.0 voice search technology for consumers in India, Southeast Asia and Australia.

Finally, the company announced new mobile widgets for the Asia-Pacific, which are available through Yahoo! Go 3.0 and the Yahoo! mobile home page.
