MMO Gaming Mouse
• Many of us go to work with lack of sleep, not because we stay out late at parties or clubs, but because of the siren call known as World of Warcraft. With the new Wrath of the Lich King expansion, this just spells more nights in front of the computer.
With that in mind, peripheral manufacturer SteelSeries has come up with the World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse that offers playability in the online game with a single desktop peripheral, regardless of your current level or play style.
The mouse is customisable to fit any hand size and has 16 million colours, thanks to its built-in light-emitted diodes. There are also 15 programmable buttons, so expect a rather steep learning curve before you can memorise which action or item you have bound to each key.
In addition to pre-defined macros, you can create your own macros.
As with most gaming mice, the World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse is tethered to your desktop with a two-metre braided cable. The device will hit stores next month for US$99.99 (RM360).

Finger Drum Mousepad
• Instead of irritating the rest of the office with your incessant fingers drumming all over the desk each time you answer a call, why not entertain them with the Finger Drum Mousepad? While this is a sorry excuse for a mousepad, it works great as a finger drumpad instead.
Using your latent talent for music, this mousepad features an integrated electronic drumpad that allows you to play eight percussion sounds, including bass, snare, two-rack toms, hi-hat, crash and ride cymbals, with your digits.
With a built-in MP3 player input, you can perform drum solos over your favourite tunes.
The Finger Drum Mousepad is able to record up to 30 of your rhythms, so you can finally convince a producer to cut an album for you and escape from the dreary nine-to-five life of the office.
Powered by a quartet of AAA batteries, it retails at US$39.95 and comes with separate volume and tempo controls, as well as a headphone jack so you can drum silently on it.

Mood-lifting umbrellas
• While rain helps keep the Earth refreshed and offer life to parched soil, it doesn’t help that the overall mood plunges with the surrounding temperature. Carrying an umbrella around just in case is also a minor inconvenience, but it is a useful tool to have when the downpour strikes.
Enter the Twilight Umbrellas, which help lighten up an overall sombre mood, although I would not recommend these for use at funerals.
Each umbrella is studded with many small blue fibre-optic lights that light up to provide a soothing glow during wet evenings or nights. Of course, you can choose to opt for another model that features tiny stars that twinkle, phasing through a rainbow of colours to help keep that skip in your step up.
The new Inside and Out colour-phasing umbrella offers you a starlit walk at night while helping to lift the mood of those around you, thanks to the external phasing lights.
Each umbrella is powered by three AAA batteries and comes priced from £17.95 (RM110) to £24.99, depending on the model.
