Protecting against online threats and spams
Chandra Devi

IF you are in need of a security solution that provides full protection, the Norton 360 version 2.0 is worth considering. Anti-virus, anti-spyware, e-mail scanning, anti-phishing, rootkit detection, identity protection, Web site authentication and network monitoring are some of the capabilities of the latest Norton 360.

As for anti-spam, users have to download this feature. Similarly, while the Norton 360 version 2.0 supports parental controls, it is not installed by default.

A new feature on the Norton 360 version 2.0 is the integration with Windows Explorer, which allows users to view the backup status of documents, music files and photos in Windows Explorer. It also supports new backup destinations such as Blu-ray disc, HD-DVD (high-definition digital video disc), and iPod.

To overcome excessive file buildup and slowdown of PC, the Norton 360 includes Registry File Cleanup. This feature removes unwanted files to keep the PC performing at its optimum.

The Norton 360 can be purchased at local retail outlets or online at http://my.symantecstore.com. The software which comes with a one-year service subscription retails at RM289. It has a three-user licence and two gigabytes of online storage.
