AT a glance, the AJV Bluetooth watch phone looks like an ordinary watch for kids. But it is more than that: an all-in-one touch-screen phone, camera, video recorder and digital watch.

Based on its design, this device is suitable for students and young working adults, or those who love outdoor activities. As it is worn on the wrist, a Bluetooth headset is compulsory for phone  communications.

Wearing the AJV watch phone may be awkward for some people but stylish for others as it is two centimetres thick with a 1.3-inch screen. But with this device, you now have less bulky items in your pocket or handbag.

The device comes with a small stylus slotted at its rubber band. As it deploys touch-screen technology, you can use your fingers to tap on its screen to explore its functions.

But its small screen size makes it a challenge to tap on the right function each time. So, dialling a number or writing a text message with your finger takes some effort. Nevertheless, the stylus should help you point to the right function.

The AJV watch phone comes with three buttons on each side, which also act as shortcut buttons to some functions. You can answer an incoming call by pushing the top-left button, and reject a call by pressing the bottom-left button. Or if you’re using the Bluetooth earpiece, just press the centre button for both functions.

As the device is not an actual music phone, do not expect stereo sound quality when playing MP3 files or videos. But the sound quality is good enough for communications purposes. It would have been nice if the manufacturer had worked on the screen resolution to make the images sharper and brighter.

Spy buffs will love this watch phone. Apart from the sound recording function, the camera lens’ discreet position makes it difficult for people to notice them.

The device also comes with a wireless application protocol browser to allow you to connect to the Internet, but this may not be appealing due to its small screen size.

Although the device’s camera is not a megapixel type, it comes with functions such as white balance, scene mode, effects settings and continuous shot to enhance picture quality. To transfer sound or image files to a computer, the device uses a plug-and-play universal serial bus.
