Change for the better
Ahmad Kushairi

CHANGE happens. In a business environment, change is inevitable. As competition increases, one needs to constantly find ways to make sure that the organisation remains viable. And change might be needed to replace old ways of doing things, and new measures might be introduced to boost efficiency and productivity.

As the saying goes, if you are through with change, you are through.

Tech&U itself is preparing for change.

For a start, from next Monday, the publication will come to you once a week instead of the usual twice.

For those who have been so used to having Tech&U as your Thursday companion over breakfast all these years, you’d better start getting used to living without it. You are essentially reading the last Thursday issue of Tech&U today!

The move to go weekly was made after considering several factors. Suffice to say that it now enables Tech&U to focus on ensuring that our readers get a more quality technology pullout with the New Straits Times every Monday.

So, what has the new Tech&U got to offer?

Well, we have decided to revamp the content to adopt a more contemporary feel.

Tech&U will be more consumer-driven, which is aimed at attracting the younger audience and techies as well as anyone who wants to hop on to the fast-moving world of technology.

New sections will be introduced such as Bloggers’ Say, which delves into the world of blogging.

There will also be Street Poll, which offers opinions and viewpoints from the man-in-the-street on selected topics related to developments in the technology industry, and Price Watch, a price listing of the latest products available in the market.

Some regular sections will be maintained, but with more breezy topics. The Innovation/Lifestyle section, for example, will cover the latest technology gadgets or equipment that are must-haves in the professional worker’s lifestyle.

While we will be more consumer-driven, we are not abandoning the enterprise market totally. We will still be reporting on this market, which we reckon remains an influential part of the entire information and communications technology industry.

So, as we close the chapter for Tech&U Thursday, we look forward to achieving more success with the revamped issue.
