SAMSUNG Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd has introduced two new products, the ML-1630 monochrome laser printer and SCX-4500 monochrome laser multi-function printer. Taking design to a new level, both printers feature elegant piano-black high-gloss finish and touch-sensors.
According to Min Yong Ho, chief
executive officer and managing director of Samsung Malaysia Electronics, for the first time Samsung has developed printers that emphasise on not just functions, but also how they are built.
“In a world where consumers are looking for more than productfunctionality, Samsung has introduced an innovative product design and functionality that will further cement its position in the high-end printer market.”
Slim, sleek and silent are common
characteristics found on both the ML-1630 and SCX-4500. Both models have print speeds of 16 pages per minute with operational noise reduced to less than 45 decibels.
The ML-1630 and SCX-4500 fit perfectly on any desk as both are small and light.
The ML-1630 is only 11 centimetres thick, which is about the height of a mug, says
Samsung Malaysia Electronics’ product manager Ku Wei Jian.
He adds that the finishing is made of polymer resin and that the printers have animated display for showing work progress and churn out melodies when specific commands are selected.
Meanwhile, B.R. Park, vice president,
digital printing division, Samsung Korea, highlights that in terms of printing solutions, Samsung has an average annual growth of
30 per cent globally while the industry is only at single-digit growth. He attributes Samsung’s growth to its fast reaction to consumer demands.
Park says Samsung also focuses on developing its own technology in building printing solutions, allocating about 10 per cent of its revenue for this purpose.
At the same time, good business partnerships and strong after-sales service have helped Samsung’s printer business to grow, he points out.
The ML-1630 and SCX-4500 retail at RM799 and RM999 respectively.
