Higher performance in new Nvidia card

VISUAL computing technologies provider Nvidia has introduced Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT GPU, a new graphics card which offers 90 per cent higher performance than comparable eight-series cards. Designed to deliver extreme high-definition gaming and video playback, the desktop peripheral plays DirectX 10 games while ready to support both high-definition digital video disc (HD DVD) and Blu-Ray formats.

According to Nvidia Asia-Pacific’s channel sales manager Mark Chen, the new model is equipped with the next generation GeForce and PureVideo HD technologies, running along side with Nvidia SLI or scalable link interface technology.

The Nvidia SLI technology is a platform innovation that allows you to intelligently scale graphics performance by combining multiple Nvidia graphics solutions in a single system with an Nvidia nForce SLI media and communications processor (MCP).

The arrival of the 9600 GT also marks the entrance of Manli Technology Company Limited, a manufacturer and supplier of computer mainboard, video graphics array (VGA) cards, sound cards and computer components. A partner of Nvidia, Manli specialises in graphic solutions.

According to its managing director Patrick Man, with 10 years experience in manufacturing and exporting computer components, Manli is bullish about its prospects in Malaysia.

“We are offering good solutions at a competitive price. We are here at the right time,” said Man, adding that among the first offerings to the market is the full series of Nvidia VGA solutions.

He revealed that while there is a downward trend in terms of accelerated graphics port (AGP)-based solutions, Manli will still deliver relevant products within the segment. He said Manli’s second plant in Shenzen is capable of producing higher volumes of cards and the research and development centre has more than 50 engineers developing Nvidia products.

The new graphics card is distributed by Ban Leong Technologies Sdn Bhd.
