Time Broadband will be responsible for the sourcing and provision of content from the Bollywood studios while Stanton Technologies will contribute its IPTV rights to deliver the content over D’podCast.
DiGi’s product development and management head Albern Murty said, “D’podCast was the first-of-its-kind service in Malaysia when it was launched in October 2007. DiGi subscribers will soon have access to premium Bollywood entertainment news, dramas and some of the latest movies reproduced into mobile episodes, commonly known as mobisodes, at no extra charge.”
Since D’podCast is an on-demand service, subscribers will have the freedom to choose content from six categories of popular podcast channels. The service includes not only the latest entertainment news, but also drama series and special mobisodes.
All these contents can be downloaded wirelessly without the need of a PC. Using DiGi’s High Speed Mobile Network, subscribers can get video and audio content on their mobile devices. The podcasts are also updated automatically and can be streamed live anytime within DiGi’s coverage area.
Meanwhile, Stanton Technologies’ chief executive officer Mervin Nevis said the agreement reaffirms Stanton Technologies’ commitment to DiGi customers, who expect high-quality and varied content.
“We are confident that each of DiGi’s customers will have in their hand an ultimate mobile entertainment experience through their handheld devices.”
