SPORTS Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic) said the national shuttlers must treat the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals like a war and not expect extra incentives from the government if they attain success in Jakarta. "I'm representing the public and we want the shuttlers to win both titles. Winning will be a perfect gift for the people of Malaysia," said Ismail after giving a pep talk to the national shuttlers at the National Sports Council (NSC) in Bukit Jalil on Wednesday. "It has been 16 years since we lifted the Thomas Cup and lets end the drought in the Indonesian capital." Ismail said the target of winning, especially the Thomas Cup, is realistic as most of the national shuttlers are world class. Ismail also had a chat with former World No 1 pair Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong, who assured him they have settled their differences.
