KOTA BARU: The Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) has detained six people, including an enforcement officer, since early this year for accepting and offering bribes, said its Kelantan director Mohd Jaafar Husin.

He said they were detained in a series of operations throughout the state.

Mohd Jaafar, however, declined to reveal which agency the officer was from and who the civilians were.

The civilians had tried to bribe enforcement personnel from various agencies.

He said the cases were being heard in court and the six accused had been released on bail.
On a related matter, Mohd Jaafar said the department had not received any information on the wrongdoings of Immigration officers in the state.

"We view the matter seriously although no report has been filed. We are monitoring the situation."

Mohd Jaafar called on the public to inform the agency immediately if they had any information related to Immigration offences.

He said the agency had set up a hotline at 09-7419933 or 09-7419934 to enable the public to report graft cases.
