Adverts to make public think about vital issues (Check out the videos!)

A GROUP of children, playing at speeding around in a (stationary) car are stopped by a policeman. What do they do?

A child buying biscuits at a sundry shop notices that the products are long past their use-by date. What does she say to the shopkeeper?

A little girl desperately has a question to ask, but none in the family has time for her. What is her question?

These are but three of five Public Service Announcement (PSA) advertisements prepared by the Integrity Institute of Malaysia to make us think about issues of corruption and integrity. Each advertisement has a different message, which is usually driven home by a child.

"When children do it, even adults are able to remember -- it's implanted in their minds," says IIM president Datuk Dr Mohd Tap Salleh.

"Child viewers can remember this because they are able to ape what their peers on TV are doing. So, as they grow older, these are the values they would carry on."

Indeed, for an adult, watching these advertisements are both funny in an ironic way, and yet bittersweet, because of the involvement of innocent children.

The only problem with the adverts is that the culprits all seem to come from one race.

You can view the five videos below.
