ALL those who install natural gas for vehicle (NGV) systems in cars have to be registered with the Road Transport Department, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin told the senate yesterday.

They were also required to follow guidelines, which includes ensuring that their equipment meet standards established by the RTD.

"The fittings used must be endorsed by Sirim Berhad and the gas tank must be approved by the Deparment of Occupational Safety and Health."

He added that his ministry had not received any complaints from motorists.
