Best of all, this floating mobile home is able to take you to the very starting point of Belum’s excursions for angling, animal spotting and trekking either to the natural salt licks, the cool, cascading waterfalls or the breeding grounds of exotic rafflesia.

And since the house-boat floats, it gives a vantage point to do some bird watching too.

Nature-lover RIZAUDDIN IBRAHIM and his friends were on a double-storey vessel that took them to Sungai Kenarong and Sungai Papan in the protected area of Upper Belum.

Their house-boat had four double-bed rooms on the upper deck and a general area which included bathroom, toilet, kitchen and dining area on the lower deck.

Equipped with three smaller boats, the house-boat came with four crew members who also acted as fishing and nature guides, boatmen and cooks.
