A by-election will be held in the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary constituency within 60 days from today.

Parliament has notified the Election Commission (EC) of the seat made vacant following the death of the Member of Parliament, Datuk Razali Ismail, Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said today at the Parliament lobby.

Razali, who was deputy education minister, died of a heart attack while playing badminton last Friday at the Aminuddin Baki Institute in Genting Highlands.

He had retained the seat in the general election in March this year with a majority of 628 votes, beating Mohamad Sabu of PAS and independent Maimun Yusof. — BERNAMA
