KUALA LUMPUR: Serial terrorism. That was how Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak described Israel's actions in Gaza.
Najib said the Zionist state had been doing this for a period of time with the support of some parties, organisations and countries.
"Therefore, we have to condemn whichever party, organisation or country that is in cahoots with the Israeli government in carrying out these atrocities.
"But it must be noted that we are not against all Jews. We have the highest regard for those who are in favour of peace," he said when seconding the motion on Gaza by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi yesterday.
Najib said the action of the Israeli army also mirrored the terrorist tactics used by Zionist organisations like Stern and Irgun in the 1940s. Stern and Irgun were terrorist outfits which fought to create Israel from Palestine.
He said this was why Palestine could not expect justice and fair play.
Najib said Israel had become so arrogant that it no longer bothered with what the world thought about its actions in Gaza.
"What is certain is that the Gaza conflict had provoked universal outrage.
"However, Israel in its arrogance had ignored all calls for a ceasefire from the United Nations, European Union, Arab League and the OIC (Organisation of the Islamic Conference)."
He added: "The government has given US$1 million (RM3.5 million) and I call on all Malaysians to give aid in whatever way they can to the Palestinian victims."
