GEORGE TOWN: A factory engineer obtained a RM2,000 refund yesterday after claiming that a skin treatment had left her with a scar on her face.

A skin solutions centre here paid Ee Sze Hui two-thirds of her claim after she lodged a report with the Consumer Claims Tribunal.

Ee said she had sought treatment at the centre last June and her right cheek became swollen and itchy after that.

“I felt a burning sensation on my right cheek and there were rashes and discharge a day after the treatment.

“The redness on my right cheek wor sened,” said the 25- year-old from Johor.

She that her condition did not improve despite repeated visits to the centre.

Ee said she was getting stares from people and suffered from emotional trauma.

“I had to stay away from my close friends to avoid embar - rassment.” She said her condition only improved after she was treated by a dermatologist at a private hospital here.

“I am happy to get the refund, especially after enduring the pain and unwanted attention.”
