Ironman Langkawi participant dies

ALOR STAR: Co-founder of Kiddocaremy and former director of corporate affairs at the Weststar Group Muhaini Mahmud, 44, has died at the Sultanah Maliha Hospital (HSM) in Langkawi today.

Muhaini, also known as Mui, was the female participant of the Langkawi Ironman event was in critical condition at HSM's Intensive Care Unit following a near-drowning incident yesterday.

Her death was confirmed by her niece, Nafisah Hani in a Facebook post about 7.30pm today.

"Inalillahwainalillahirajiun, God loves her more, Alfatihah for Kak Muhaini Mahmud," she said in the update.

Yesterday, it was reported that three Ironman Langkawi participants - two men and a woman were rescued while participating in a swimming discipline at Pantai Kok.

Langkawi police chief Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari was reported as saying they were rushed to Sultanah Maliha Hospital, with one losing consciousness.

One of the male participants, Muhammad Rabani Hashim, 29, a staff member at the Terengganu Sports Council is reportedly in stable condition and receiving treatment at HSM after falling ill while taking part in running event.
