KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will raise the Israel-Palestine conflict at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Economic Leaders' Week in San Francisco.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim gave this assurance amid calls made by some leaders to boycott Apec as a show of solidarity with Palestine.
"We will discuss several developments and carry out our duty to the best of our ability," he told reporters after launching MPOB International Palm Oil Congress and Exhibition 2023 (PIPOC 2023) today.
Anwar, during the Finance Ministry's monthly assembly yesterday, said while the government did not agree with the United States' stance on the Israel-Palestine war, it also has the priority to protect the country's interests in terms of economy, security and diplomatic relations.
At the same time, he said, Malaysia remain steadfast on its stand on the issue.
