JKDNKA's confiscated goods value reaches RM1 billion

KUALA LUMPUR: The Internal Security and Public Order Department (JKDNKA) has successfully achieved its goal of reaching RM1 billion in confiscated goods value.

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), through JKDNKA, has conducted various operations, including OP Contraband and OP Tiris.

Among the items confiscated during the Integrated Treasure Operation involved frozen food, counterfeit medications, untaxed goods, wildlife, and controlled items.

"From Jan 1 to Nov 30, JKDNKA, especially the Wildlife Crime Bureau/Intelligence Special Investigation (WCB/PSK), General Operations Force (PGA), Marine Police Force (PPM), and Federal Reserve Unit (PSP), have successfully carried out a total of 7,033 raids.

"During these operations, they detained 5,099 individuals, resulting in a total seized goods value amounting to RM 920,047,558.70," said Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali.

Among the agencies involved in assisting the operations include the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN), Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM), Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN).

He commended the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) and Peninsular Malaysia Forestry Department (JPSM) for conducting quality operations that effectively address various public safety and security issues.

"JKDNKA is committed to fighting untaxed goods smuggling, controlling the misuse of goods, and protecting national treasures for public safety and revenue.

"Public involvement and cooperation in providing information to the police are highly encouraged. This will help eradicate such criminal activities," he added.
