LANGKAWI: The body of a 30-year-old man was found floating near the shoreline at the Lagoon Kuala Teriang here today.
The body of the victim, identified as Shafie Abdullah, was found by members of the public at about 3pm.
Langkawi district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari said preliminary investigation showed there were no elements of foul play.
"Early physical examinations indicate that the victim had no injuries that may suggest criminal elements involved," he said in a statement today.
The body, he said, has been sent to Sultanah Maliha Hospital for post mortem.
"The case has been classified as sudden death," he said.
