Task force to strengthen unity plan

KUALA LUMPUR: In a move to beef up his Greater Unity Plan, MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat yesterday unveiled a task force to carry out the plan's three main thrusts.

Writing in his blog ongteekeat.net, he said he had directed the task force to come up with action plans and "execute swiftly" its aims to unite the party, healing and transforming and rebranding the MCA.

The panel will be headed by deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek and will include the party's four vice-presidents, Youth chief, Wanita chief, the secretary-general, Senator Heng Seai Kie, Gan Ping Sieu, Datuk Chong Itt Chew, Loh Seng Kok and Simon Lim.

"I will be monitoring its progress closely," he said.
