2 die in parang attack

KLANG: Two men were killed in Jalan Raja Nong, Taman Sentosa, after attending a birthday party at 1am yesterday.

Two others, including a 15-year-old, were critically injured.

The four were on their way home when they were confronted by a group of 10 to 15 men armed with parang, about 100m from the venue of the birthday party.

A heated argument ensued and the group attacked the four. One man ran about 200m to get help but the men caught up with him and attacked him.

"The man died near the gate of a house while the other died on the way to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital," said acting Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Khaw Kok Chin.

The two killed were Kalimuthu, 30, who died on the spot and Berberanathan @ Ravi , 42, who died on the way to hospital.

J. Sivamathran, 25, and P. Selvaraj were warded in critical condition.

Police have detained a 30-year-old suspect.
