Tian Chua apologises to Dewan

2009/11/24

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition member of parliament Chua Tian Chang (PKR-Batu) today apologised to the House for solely depending on information from a website when debating on the solar hybrid system two weeks ago.
Better known as Tian Chua, the MP said he wished to withdraw his statement in which he also mentioned the acquiring of the contract by Shorefield Sdn Bhd.

He said he had looked at the company's website which listed Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Fadillah Yusof as a director, but was later told that Fadillah had resigned from the company.

"Therefore, I apologise as I had only depended on information from the website," he said when interjecting the winding-up of the debate on the Rural and Regional Development Ministry by its deputy minister Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun.

Earlier, during the debate at the policy level, Chua had questioned the giving of the contract for solar-derived power generation in Sabah to a company which was linked to a deputy minister.
