2 PKR strongmen from Papar join Umno

PAPAR, Sun: Parti Keadilan Rakyat's (PKR) Papar division secretary Awang Mumin Awang Marali and its youth chief Faizal Julaili, who is also state PKR Youth chief, have quit PKR to join Umno. The duo handed in their membership application forms to join Umno to Papar Umno chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Ismail, who is also Pantai Manis assemblyman, attwo separate functions here today.

They were given a rousing welcome by local residents and Kampung Buang Sayang and Kampung Benoni here when they handed in the forms.

Abdul Rahim said their joining Umno showed the people had lost confidence in opposition parties and that it was only the Barisan Nasional and Umno that couldensure their progress. - Bernama
