Hishammuddin hopes fresh elections will resolve MCA crisis

KLUANG, Sun: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein hopes that fresh elections will be held to help resolve the prolonged MCA crisis.
He said the MCA crisis need to be resolved fast as it could affect other Barisan Nasional component parties like Umno and MIC.
I hope that fresh elections will meet the members wishes and resolve theMCA crisis," he said after opening a motivation and leadership course of Sembrong MCA division here today.
Hishammuddin was commenting a statement by MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai that the special briefing yesterday had passed a declaration urging that fresh election for central committee(CC) members be held in 60 days.
The briefing organised by Liow's faction also accepted a proposal to amend Article 46 of the constitution that vice-presidents, ministers and deputy ministers be automatically appointed to the CC.
Currently, the appointments are at the prerogative of the MCA president. - Bernama
