IPOH: SMK Anderson ended its year-long centennial celebrations yesterday by rewarding its most outstanding old boys with the "Andersonian of the Century" awards. "This school has given me a great education, and now I want to contribute to it," he said.
Wang, a writer and historian, said he studied at the old school, along with academician Aminuddin between 1936 and 1945.
"The two of us were great friends and we had a good time together," he said, adding that he was proud and happy to be recognised by the Anderson fraternity.
The candidates were decided by a panel of judges, including former menteri besar Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli Ghazali, Tan Sri Mohamed Hashim Ahmad Makaruddin, Datuk Seri N.S. Selvamany and Datuk Seri Mohd Hilmi Ismail.
The panel was headed by Tan Sri Ahmad Azizuddin Zainal Abidin.
