2009/11/23

By Audrey Dermawan

GEORGE TOWN: A man risked his life chasing a snatch thief who had fled with his wife's handbag, resulting in his ramming his car into a concrete wall of an army camp in Jalan Perak here, yesterday.
The man who failed to catch up with the snatch thief on a motorcycle, was lucky to escape unhurt although his car was badly damaged.

The incident happened about 10am when the man and his wife were walking towards their car after having breakfast in Jalan Anson.

The motorcyclist rode up to them and grabbed his wife's handbag containing cash and some important documents.

The man immediately got into his car alone and gave chase.

After tailing for about 3km from Jalan Khaw Sim Bee to Jalan Perak, the motorcyclist made a left turn at a narrow junction.
