Baby dumping suspect on bail

SETIU: A 41-year-old housewife suspected of abandoning her week-old infant at a dumpsite in Kampung Banggol, here, was released on police bail three days later.

The woman, who is said to be suffering from post-natal depression, was released on Wednesday after being warded at Setiu Hospital on Nov 3.

District police chief Deputy Superintendent Shaik Othman Abdul Hamid said investigations were almost complete.

"The medical investigation on the dead infant is ongoing," he said.
